Living Design in Denmark

❝ It [Danish Design] is a tradition that springs from the designer’s preoccupation with man as a social being - with the wish of designers to create spaces, objects, and other forms of expression that give pleasure to ordinary people, not just a small, often wealthy, group of patrons. ❞

I think I may have found a personal design manifesto…who knew that it would be the design culture of an entire region.

❝ Nature as an artistic motif is a recurring theme in Danish Design, and the tranformation of phenomena such as light, texture, and growth into viable principles of form has always had a significant influence on our visual and functional form culture. ❞

❝ Just as long as it is useful! Beauty is Free, it comes naturally. ❞

K.V. Engelhardt

My new design hero - Now if only his work wasn’t so anonymous as to be non-noticable, or is that a good thing?

❝ Enthusiasm for the everyday objects in life is important, because everyday objects are the biggest things we have ❞
