a day at Boatrock

Jeff topping out Watchdog [V4]

December 17

Had an opportunity to spend a great day out at Boatrock with Jeff. The temps were in the low 50’s high 40’s with ZERO humidity…..the rock was sticky like fly paper. Conditions being so perfect it wasn’t a surprise that the sends would be plentiful, and big. Jeff made quick work of Bob and Curt’s Slab [V6], and I managed The Surgeon [V5] in 4 tries. Satisfied we set across the road to start working on Watchdog [V4] and its sit-down variation [project]. Again, Jeff made quick work of the stand start and all our energy could focus on the sit.

Such a sweet problem….side-sloper with good feet to a good incut jug, cross to a shitty crimp and perch on a high left foot; unwind, hit another side-sloper gaston style, hold the barndoor, then execute the stand start. I really can’t wait to go back and give it some more tries.
